2- Preface:- In the modern era, Doordarshan has made an important place in our life. It is not only a means of entertainment but also an informative scientific tool. Today the expansion of Doordarshan is seen not only in big cities but also in rural areas. In today's race, a tired person wants some entertainment for the whole day, for which he tries to overcome his fatigue by watching many programs of Doordarshan.

3- दूरदर्शन के आविष्कार:- इंग्लैण्ड के एक इंजीनियर जान वेयर्ड ने रायल इंस्टीट्यूट के सदस्यों के सामने इसका अविष्कार 25 जनवरी 1926 ई० को किया था। उसने कठपुतली के चहरे का चित्र रेडियों तरंगों की सहायता से दूसरे कमरे में ज्यों का त्यों प्रस्तुत कर दिखाया था।भारत में दूरदर्शन के पहला केंद्र 15 अगस्त 1959 ई० को नई दिल्ली में प्रारंभ किया गया था। तब से लेकर आज तक भारत में अनेक स्टेशन स्थापित किये जा चुके हैं। अब हर 5 से से 4 से घर में दूरदर्शन को देखा जा रहा है।'दूरदर्शन और उसका प्रभाव'

3- Invention of Doordarshan: - John Ward, an engineer from England, invented it in front of the members of Royal Institute on 25 January 1926 AD. He had shown the picture of the face of the puppet with the help of radio waves in another room as it is. The first center of Doordarshan in India was started on 15 August 1959 in New Delhi.Since then, many stations have been established in India till date. Now Doordarshan is being watched in the house from every 5 to 4.
4- दूरदर्शन की तकनीक:- दूरदर्शन बहुत कुछ रेडियो तकनीक पर आधारित है। इन दोनों में अंतर केवल इतना है कि रेडियो किसी ध्वनि को विधुत तरंगों में परिवर्तित कर उन्हें दूर- दूर तक प्रसारित कर देता है,और इस प्रकार प्रसारित की जा रही विधुत तरंगों को फिर से ध्वनि में बदल देता है। वही दूरदर्शन प्रकाश को विधुत तरंगों में बदल कर प्रसारित करता है,जिससे ध्वनि के साथ - साथ इसके दृष्टियों को भी हम लोग देख सकते हैं। दूरदर्शन के प्रसारण स्तम्भ जितना ऊँचा होगा उतनी ही दूर तक उसे प्रसारित चित्र दूरदर्शन पर स्पष्ट दिखाई पड़ सकेगा। प्रारम्भ में दूरदर्शन के प्रसारण की अवधि मात्र 8 मिनट की हुआ करती थी तथा इसके प्रसारण को सप्ताह में दो बार ही देखा जा सकता था। सन 1982 ई० का वर्ष भारतीय दूरदर्शन के स्वर्णिम वर्ष था। अभी तक दूरदर्शन के कार्यक्रम श्वेत और काले रंग के थे। 15 अगस्त 1982 ई० से रंग टेलीविजन आना आरम्भ हुआ और इससे राष्ट्रीय कार्यक्रमों को प्रारम्भ किया गया। इस तरह टेलीविजन का शुभारंभ हुआ जो आज के लिए जुनून सावित हो रहा है।'दूरदर्शन और उसका प्रभाव'

4- Doordarshan's technology:- Doordarshan is based on radio technology a lot. The only difference between these two is that radio converts any sound into electrical waves and transmits them over a distance, and thus converts the electrical waves being transmitted into sound again. The same television transmits light by converting it into electric waves, so that we can see its vision along with sound. The higher the telecast column of Doordarshan, the farther it will be able to clearly see the broadcast picture on Doordarshan. Initially, the duration of telecast of Doordarshan was only 8 minutes and its broadcast could be seen only twice a week. The year 1982 was the golden year of Indian Doordarshan. Till now the programs of Doordarshan were of black and white colours. From August 15, 1982, color television started coming and national programs were started from this. Thus began the television which is fulfilling the passion it is for today.
5- दूरदर्शन के उपयोग:- आधुनिक समाज में दूरदर्शन के उपयोग शिक्षा, साहित्य, सूचना, मनोरंजन, फैशन प्रचार-प्रसार आदि विभिन्न क्षत्रों में किया जा रहा है। इससे देश-विदेश के समाचार घर बैठे सुन लेना कोई कम उपलब्धि नहीं है।साथ ही समय और धन दोनों की भी बचत होती है। दूरदर्शन आज हर मनुष्य के लिए बहुत ही महत्वपूर्ण साधन बन चुका है।

6- दूरदर्शन के प्रभाव:- दूरदर्शन के द्वारा बच्चे, स्त्री और पुरुष सभी अपने-अपने रुचि के अनुसार कार्यक्रम देख सकते हैं।आज दूरदर्शन ने अपने मनोरंजन टीम ज्ञानवर्धक कार्यक्रमों के जरिये निश्चित तौर पर हमारे समाज पर गहरा प्रभाव डाला है। दूरदर्शन के कुछ चैनल जैसे- स्टार प्लस, जी०टी०बी०, सोनी, डिस्कवरी व संगीत चैनल्स के साथ-साथ मूवी चैनल भी अधिक लोकप्रिय हो रहे हैं। टीवी के प्रचलन से जहां घर बैठे मनोरंजन हो रहा है वही पैसों की भी बचत होती है।'दूरदर्शन और उसका प्रभाव'
6- Effects of Doordarshan:- Through Doordarshan, children, men and women can all watch programs according to their interests. Today, Doordarshan has definitely made a deep impact on our society through its entertainment team, knowledgeable programs. Some of the Doordarshan channels like Star Plus, GTB, Sony, Discovery and Music channels as well as movie channels are becoming more popular. With the use of TV, where entertainment is being done sitting at home, money is also saved.
7- दूरदर्शन से लाभ व हानियाँ:- जिस वस्तु से जितना लाभ होता है उतना ही हानि भी होती है जैसे एक सिक्के के दो पहलू जैसा। यहां प्रमुख लाभ व हानि के विषय पर चर्चा की गई है जो इस प्रकार से है-

7- Advantages and disadvantages of Doordarshan:- The thing that benefits as much as it is also harms like two sides of a coin. The major advantages and disadvantages are discussed here which are as follows-
A- दूरदर्शन से लाभ:- 1- संसार की खबरों के विषय में जानकारी रखना 2- सस्ता और सुलभ मनोरंजन 3- विश्व संस्कृतियों के अचार-विचार की जानकारी 4- व्यावसायिक और शिक्षण सम्बन्धी सूचनाओं की प्राप्ति 5- पर्यटन का महत्व 6- सभी का ज्ञान साधन 7- बच्चों के विकास में साधन 8- खेलकूद प्रतियोगिता का लाइव प्रसारण आदि ऐसे भी अनेकोनेक लाभ देखने को मिलते हैं। आजकल अपने प्रोडक्ट को बेचने के लिए कम्पनियां एडवरटाइजिंग भी टीवी के माध्यम से करवा रही हैं।
